About the Program

Master’s in International Construction Project Management at Tsinghua University (THU)
The Master of Engineering in International Construction Project Management (ICPM) program aims to broaden and deepen students’ knowledge of contemporary issues in the leadership, strategic management, and delivery of international projects to provide value to stakeholders and society as a whole. The unique characteristic of this program is to expose students to a new way of thinking and to create awareness of how Chinese organizations operate, manage, and deliver projects in the fast-changing world. The program is practice-oriented. Students will be taught to think creatively, to be innovative with new ideas, and to use tools and techniques for effective management of projects. Students will be taught about problem-solving, leadership, and the exploitation of technology. This is a unique opportunity to embrace Chinese culture and thinking and to engage in the world of international construction.

About Tsinghua University (THU)

Tsinghua University is located in the North West of Beijing in the University District (Haidian District). The campus is in between Peking University and Wudaokou which is the centre of the University District.
Tsinghua University is well known for its beautiful campus with lakes and greenery and beautiful buildings, it is located on the former site of Qing Dynasty royal gardens and retains Chinese-style landscaping as well as traditional buildings, but many of its buildings are also in the Western-style, reflecting the American influence in its history. Along with its rival and neighbor the Peking University, it is known throughout China and the wider world for having one of the most beautiful campuses. Tsinghua University’s campus was named one of the most beautiful college campuses in the world by a panel of architects and campus designers in Forbes in 2010; it was the only university in Asia on the list.

Accomodation

Accomodation Details:

Located in the north of Tsinghua University, Zijing Apartments (紫荆公寓) is the most modernized student dormitory in China and the largest, able to accommodate 22,400 students. Zijing comprises 26 blocks, with 23 buildings ranging from 7 to 15 stories. The total construction area amounts to 350,000 m2 (3,800,000 sq ft). The cost of the apartments is below. New students should apply at the reception desk of Zijin Building 19.
Because the number of on-campus apartment rooms is limited and can not meet the demands of all students to live on campus, the new students who have received the Admission Notice of Tsinghua University need to book the rooms in advance, following the date, time and procedure specified in the Instructions of International Students Dormitory Application System of Tsinghua University which is sent out by ISO to you together with the admission materials package. The website of the booking system is http://www.thutraining.com.
Before online booking, please prepare a bank card (Visa, MasterCard, or China UnionPay) that is enabled to support online payment for the deposit (RMB 500) of a successful booking.
When you check-in at the General Reception Desk, please show your Admission Notice and passport. You need to pay RMB 200 as a deposit and the rent for a semester. Bank card payment is accepted at the reception.
According to the law and the relevant policy, the Zijing International Student Apartments are only able to host foreign students who are registered at Tsinghua University. Neither the relatives or friends of students nor other persons are allowed to live in the apartments. Students living in the Apartments should comply with the administrative regulations. For instance, lighting fire, including using candles is strictly prohibited in the rooms; students are not allowed to host other people overnight in the rooms.

How easy to get

The accommodation on campus is not guaranteed and on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are applying late, we advise you to choose accommodation off campus, or to choose another university with more available on campus accommodation.
